Hemidactylus pieresii is a gecko species that is only found in Sri Lanka. It was once considered the same as Hemidactylus depressus in 1935 by Smith, but was later recognized as a separate species again in 2012 by Batuwita and Pethiyagoda. This gecko has been recorded in several areas including Kandy, Hiniduma, Yattapatha, Pitadeniya, Sinharaja, Kalugala, and Gannoruwa, mostly in forested and humid regions.
