Schmarda's Shrub frog

This endemic species is found in the cloud forests of the Central Highlands at altitudes between 800 - 2300m.

Very colorful and the colors match well with the living environment. You can get a good understanding about it from these pictures.

Female digs a hole deep inside the forest floor and lays eggs in it.

Named after the Australian physician, naturalist and traveler Mr. Ludwig Karl Schmarda.

There is a similar species to P. shmarda known as Pseudophilautus hankeni from knuckles highlands to Loolecondera. Schmarda's Shrub frog is an Endangered species.
