𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 - 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐚 ■ Kuragala is a notable prehistoric site in Sri Lanka, featuring remnants of an early human settlement from the late Pleistocene period, as well as the ruins of an ancient Buddhist cave temple complex that dates back to the 2nd century BC. Situated in Balangoda, approximately 24 kilometers (15 miles) from the town along the Balangoda-Kaltota road (B38), this historic location has been designated as an archaeological reserve by the Sri Lankan government. It is recognized as the oldest known archaeological site in the island's Intermediate Zone.
