This is one of the two species of flying snakes found in Sri Lanka. Like the ornate flying snake, it is capable of gliding from tree to tree and branch to branch. Its large eyes, slender body, and prehensile tail are well-adapted for an arboreal lifestyle. Additionally, it has keeled ventral scales that aid in climbing trees.
